Does this mean we are world renowned?

A few months back we photographed one of the homes that is used as an exterior on "Modern Family". The photos got a lot of attention when it was put on the market then. However, we are getting a lot of calls to use our photos now that the home has sold. One of our real estate photo shoots was mentioned in an Australian new post. This makes us world renowned right? We'll take it!

Here are our photos in a post in Perth, Australia... Click on the image or link below to take a look at the article and a few more photos!

Pelham St, Los Angeles

We photographed this really great spanish home in Los Angeles for our client Ante Perkov at Capwest Real Estate. It's a beautiful 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom family home on a large lot with a nice big backyard. It can use some updating, but it's got such great bones. The neighborhood is one of those beautiful family neighborhoods with lots of people walking pets and kids out playing. It really looks like a lovely place to live!

Things I love!

I tend to love older houses. Don't get me wrong, I love a clean, simple, modern house. However, I love love love older houses. I love built ins. I love the extra little details there are to be found.

One of the reasons we chose to live in the apartment we do was because of the built in corner china cabinet and the ginger bread work in the kitchen. The bathroom still has PINK tile on the floors and walls...but we love it!

Last weekend I photographed a 1931 upstairs flat in Beverly Hills. It was almost a time capsule from the 60s. My client had been hired to update the kitchen and three bathrooms and I came in to photograph the "afters" of his remodeling. I'm a little bummed I didn't get to see the kitchen and bathrooms before they had been remodeled. I'm sure they would have been too cool! I'll show you the updates next time...for now, here are my favorite details...

Pasadena Condo

Two weeks ago we photographed a virtual tour and still photos for one of our regular clients Jerry Sun at Remax. I'm always curious what they are going to have for me and of course I wasn't disappointed. It was a big free standing condo in Pasadena. Tons of space, open floor plan. I was loving it. Here are a few shots...but take a look at the website to see the full virtual tour! www.1690locust.com

Lincoln St, Burbank...a second time

Last weekend I photographed for Desi Kepe at Wealthpoint Realty. He sent me to 921 Lincoln St. As I was driving to the house, I started trying to recall which house I had recently photographed a house for him on Lincoln. He flips a lot of houses in Burbank, so it's not so uncommon to photograph multiple houses on the same street.

I pulled up to the house and went to work as usual. Photographed this beautiful house in his normal style. Simple, contemporary and clean design with great staging from Style My Space. I photographed away and when I was finished, I went to work on editing the photos.

That's when I finally realized that I had photographed this house before. Yes the floor plan was similar to some of his other houses. However, this house was a completely different floor plan than when I had photographed it before. The front exterior was the same and even the cute little building in back was the same. I even looked at that little building out back and thought about how it was similar to one I had photographed for him before. haha!

It was fun to look back and see how they changed it. It looks fantastic and of course was fun to shoot!

We photographed another great house in the Mount Washington area for our client Kelly Elder McGowen. We love working with Kelly! The amount of thought and detail she puts into each shot idea is amazing. By the time we get to the property to shoot, she has already planned out the key shots for the home. Before working as a realtor, she worked in commercials as a creative director. That's exactly what she brings to the property. When she walks me through a home, she is planning out how my photography will come together to make a commercial for the home. It's definitely a different way to work. It's detailed work, but I truly enjoy it!

Take a look at her latest property in Mount Washington at 454 w Avenue 44. It really is a cottage in the hills. You almost forget how close you are to the city and the bustling streets below. Take a look at the full virtual tour at 454westavenue44.com

17544 Parthenia St, Northridge, CA

Ok just about the time I get to posting this property, I saw that it's been sold already! Another beautiful home from Desi Kepe of Wealthpoint Realty. I swear I just photographed this yesterday! Well, it's a large 4 bed 3 bathroom house with a large back and front yard and even space for a horse out back.  Style my Space Interiors did a great job staging this spacious house. Check out this open floor plan in the photos below! Click here to view the full slideshow.

Grand Re-Opening of Mission Plaza Apartments

We have been photographing for ICON Builders for the better part of this year. During that time we have photographed Mission Plaza a few times...photographing the progression of the rehabbing they have done on the apartment complex. It really is fun to see the changes each time we visit the property. They recently finished the work on Mission Plaza. So, last weekend we got to photograph the Grand Re-Opening of the Mission Plaza Apartments. It's always to switch it up and photograph an event. We get to test out other parts of our creativity. It was an absolutely beautiful day! Perfect for this great event with a mariachi band, lots of food, face painters and fun! I think everyone had a great time! Take a look at the photos!

Curbed LA

I love curbedla.com and love finding my photos on their site even more! I like their tell-it-like-it-is writing and tend to find myself an hour on their site before I know it. So, it was fun to come across a listing that I shot a while back. I might have to take a look through their site for more of my work!

If you are into real estate, rentals, los angeles and the surrounding area, take a look at the site. They never disappoint with their interesting articles.

3871 Filion Ave, Los angeles

We never miss an opportunity to photograph a beautiful home...even if it's an evening shoot on Halloween! It's another beautiful home from Ernie Espinoza. He gave us a beautiful house with more great staging from Tabula Rasa Home . It's a clean contemporary 3 story home in the hills with incredible views! We found ourselves circling back around to photograph rooms again as the light changed...we just couldn't help ourselves! Outside there is a three tiered backyard with a fire pit, basketball court and an outdoor kitchen. We wish it was ours, but we are still content to be able to photograph it! Take a look and let us know what you think! Click here to look at the full slideshow!

7 Fountains

We had the opportunity to photography a beautiful mediterranean style condo community a few weeks ago. It was a big project but we were lucky to have such a beautiful and creative subject to photograph. We had access to a few different condos. Each were very different, each with it's own feel. There were plenty of great community seating areas to sit and visit or just read and relax. We would have loved to have spent more time photographing and just enjoying the relaxed atmosphere! It was a real treat! Click here to view their virtual tour!

To view the property contact Andrew Levant or contact them through www.7fountains.com (yes the property is called 7 Fountains for a reason)

Simply Sophisticated Home

Check out the write up we got from a client, former co-worker and friend...Tricia Meyer at Simply Sophisticated Home.

We originally photographed her jewelry line a few years back. It was great fun and a great learning experience! Since then we have watched her get her degree in design. We just love her immaculate style and taste and hope to have the opportunity to photograph it one day!

Take a look at her write up of MediaCarrot Photography at Simple Sophisticated Home and take some time to subscribe to her blog. Such great ideas!

Pasadena Craftsman

We've been shooting like crazy lately! One of our favorite houses we recently photographed was from a new client. A 5 bedroom/2 bathroom...huge, beautiful craftsman in Pasadena! I can't imagine what I'd do with all the room! Formal Dining room, Living Room, Family Room, huge laundry room, and Library (dreamy)...not to mention a huge backyard with a 2 bedroom apartment. It really was fun to photograph stills and a virtual tour of!

The Wonderfulness of Staging

One of the things that really helps a house sell...besides great photography of course...is staging. Great staging takes out the echo of the empty house and creates the warmth of a home. It will help buyers imagine what the house would look like, if they lived there. It gives personality and scale to an empty room. Staging is the difference between wearing your sweat pants to and interview and wearing a nice suit. I'm always so appreciative of a realtor that has staging. Here is a great example of staging vs empty room...

Twilight Real Estate Photography

One of the things that I think really takes a real estate listing from great to amazing, is evening or twilight photo shoots. I love them! Not only does it really show the house in a dreamy light with amazing blue skies, it's absolutely fun for the photographer. You really have to wait to the light to get to the right spot. You have to wait for that quality that you want. These shoots generally make me slow down and wait. I find I shoot far more photos than I normally shoot on an exterior. As the sun goes down, the moon comes up, and as the lights come on...there are so many different levels and qualities of light, you don't want to miss a thing. Every few minutes I take a shot because the light is so beautiful...then it seems to get more and more beautiful. When you add in a beautiful home...it's my favorite type of shoot! Here are a few examples of twilight or evening shoots.
